Ponder

Ponder is the product of a self-initiated logo experiment, exploring different ways of conveying the thought process. Looking particularly at the bringing together of ideas and how people go about getting inspired.

A project was later formed around this concept, in the form of a creative social network. The aim being for users to share their inspiration in an effort to inspire others. The project’s main focus was the UX and UI design, though a small portion of the development was undertaken as well to exemplify the website’s functionality. Below is a more in-depth description of the site.

Website

Ponder is a website the offers its users the chance to explore various creative professions accumulated into one interactive resource. Like many other online portfolio websites Ponder enables its users to share their work. Its individuality is allowing users to share their inspiration; whether for specific pieces of work or for themselves as creatives in general. They are given the chance to further-explore ideas behind work from many different creative professions, encouraging links to be made between them, thus aiding the creative process.

Ponder encourages an open community, and provides for individuality. Each user has their own profile page where relevant information is gathered together. This consists of data such as their own work, inspirations, messages, followers and favourite content by other users of the website. Information is appropriately linked; this is achieved by categorising and tagging content, enabling users to find relevant content effortlessly.
